The Trapani 21

In January 2021, the Trapani prosecutor's office charged 21 individuals: crew members, captains, and team leaders who had worked aboard the Iuventa (Jugend Rettet), the Vos Prudence (MSF), and the Vos Hestia (Save the Children) during operations in 2016 and 2017. Beyond the individual defendants, the charges extended to the NGOs MSF and Save the Children, as well as the shipping company Vroon — owner of the Vos Prudence and Vos Hestia — as legal entities.
